Funeral for a Tree

So, besides watching Despicable Me 2 for the past few days non-stop, the kids have decided that it would also be fun to watch The Lorax over and over too. I have no problems with this. Despicable Me 2 was really, really funny and I liked it.

I really love The Lorax. They found a way to make a "go green" (which we call a "save the trees movie") movie into something really cute and awesome. Like, I can't start to list what my favorite scenes are. It's just as good as Horton Hears a Who!

My favorite musical piece in the entire movie is a track called "Funeral for a Tree." And when I get SUPER AWESOME GOOD at my piano, I am going to learn this. I love it just so much.

It is a really sad song, for me. It goes up there with "Arwen's Vigil" on the list of sad piano songs.

So here it is, a very well-done cover of it, for you all to enjoy. Unless you are my brother, then you'll think it's lame.

Boys are thick.

Haha.

Oh yay! Blogger let me blog today!

But I do think it is a beautiful piece.

I SHALL LEARN THOSE SCALES, SENSEI!!!!

I WON'T LET YOU DOWN!!!

I'll come out and say it, I don't really have a good post title. There.

Okay. Due to internet problems--and my own constant laziness, I haven't been doing much blogging. But I was reading all day yesterday, basically, so I was doing something.

So today's post is going to be different than what I have been previously posting. That meaning: it will probably be full of music videos and maybe Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I really don't know.

This song is called "The Bells of New York City." It by Josh Groban. I few weeks ago, I got the "Illumintaions" album from the library. I know that it was an earlier one, but I am not sure what year. Anyway, this was my favorite song from it besides, "War at Home."

I like the part of War at Home when he gets to the chorus, the vocals are awesome! The lyrics, if I can remember correctly are these: "You see these hands they're bruised and brown."

Now this is the lyric video for a song called "Poison and Wine" by my new favorite duo ever, The Civil Wars. Why don't I post the official video? Well,  it's a fine video--I check mostly every video before I post it, ya know, try to keep this blog mostly G-rated--but when I posted it, it landed on a... weird spot. SO! If you want to see it, it's in this link. It's a fine video, as I said before. I was hoping that they would do a video like this one. I like the simpler ones with the piano and guitar. It's so much better than what an acted something or another would be.

Maybe one of the facts here is that I cannot play the piano or guitar...even thought I REALLY WANT TOO. Hah. I do have a guitar...but my fingers weren't made for fretting. That's what my mind is for. :D (See, that was a joke.)

Then it's like, "you really gotta get better with the jokes, Mutant."

"I'm laughing on the inside."

I will give a medal to whoever gets that reference.

Okay, so, it's a theoretical medal.

Fine, it was Molly Mahoney and Henry in "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium."

Awesome movie...

Anyway, I went off track there.

Isn't funny that Word will spell-check Aragorn, but it doesn't spell-check Bilbo Baggins? I thought it was funny.

Again, I went of track.

Bad girl. Bad. ~smack~

Then there was this certain thing I wanted to post because I thought it was incredibly epic. Now, I am not so much into pop/rock music and the like, but I am open to any kind of music. The song in this music video totally worked with the whole theme of the show and whoever made this video did a stupid awesome job. I have never seen movement and music combined so well...

I found it on a blog that I think I have posted before. (BTW this is the site.) So, this is what he had to say about it.

I was beyond impressed. Radioactive is the type of song that really gets your adrenaline rushing and the message within really compares well with The Legend of Korra’s storyline. All the sound effects and animation clips fit together well and it looked like the creator really put a lot of time and effort into it.
What he was talking about was a little thing called Legend of Korra AMV (Radioactive).

When I saw this the first time, I kinda chilled over. You know, like you do, when something is completely and utterly awesome. Then, when it was over, and I could talk again, I declared that I was going to blog it.

And I will continue to sing this song for the rest of the day.

I don't know. I love Legend of Korra...so this is just as epic as anything could get.

Man, it's awesome. I think I have watched it 7 times, maybe?

Well, I think that does it for this post.

I shall be back.

Have an awesome day.
