It's so hot in the Northeast--

I told you I would be back. Granted, it wasn't around Tuesday like I expected...I have been super busy. I guess not busy. I have been doing stuff like reading and I am trying to work on my novel and school and other extra things and crafting (I am in the process of binding a book that I made out of printer paper) and Pinterest and etc...

There is just too much to post and I either don't have enough time to post it or I am just too lazy.  I guess it doesn't matter...for I am here now. ~gleam~

To explain the matter further--this is a picture I took of all my library books. I did it to prove my point.

There are 7 books here. The one on the top however, I decided not to read. The rest of the pile includes titles such as Cathing Fire, Mockingjay (both the sequels to The Hunger Games) The Looking Glass Wars, (book 1 and 2) and The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing-Traitor to the Nation- Book 2, and last but not least, Clockwork Princess. I think they are all going to be fairly awesome books. I had read The Hunger Games last summer. It thought it was alright--at that point I wasn't much into the Post Apocalyptic books. Funny how things change in a year--and I decided to get the last two. I guess the adds on the internet of Catching Fire (movie) had reminded me that I hadn't finished them yet. I will have to blog that movie poster. Katniss's dress is AWEEEESOME!

As for The Looking Glass Wars...I am a complete Wonderland fan. They struck me as interesting. I guess the story is that Lewis got it all wrong and this was what really happened...I don't know for sure. I haven't gotten around to reading them yet. I don't know what I was thinking when I got seven novels...and then I only have 3 weeks for them. And apparently I will be busy and not be able to read them except for in the wee hours of the morning...Ugh.

The Life of Octavian Nothing. I had just recently finished the first one. Let me explain how I came across this.

A couple months ago--and now still, as it would seem--I was really into books written in first person. Mainly because I was trying to write one. I still am. And then I started another. Then I had two stories started and now...I have started another one. Sometimes, I wonder if this is was being a writer is like.

Anyway, I stumbled across Octavian Nothing while searching the library shelves. The thing that struck me as cool  was the pages were kind of ripped. Not the pages in the book...rather, the sides of the pages. They looked as though they were meant to be older looking and worn. Well, that effect certainly worked. The book itself looked cool, but the inside was a little cooler.

Here's the summary, I am not very good at typing those up.

The greater part of the story is told by a boy named Octavian, who grew up with his mother Cassiopeia, an African princess, in a house full of philosophers and scientists in colonial Boston. Under the watchful eyes of Mr. Gitney, also known as 03-01, Octavian has received a classical education as well as a musical education which has made him into an extremely skilled violinist. Octavian eventually comes to understand the price of his powdered wigs and education: he is not only the "property" of Mr. Gitney, but he is also being used as an experiment to test whether the African race is inferior to the European race.
In time, Cassiopeia angers the scientists' benefactor and the Society loses its monetary support. The two are forced to go under the new watchful eye of Richard Sharpe, who cuts Octavian off from his books. It is later revealed that Richard Sharpe works for a group of colonial businessmen, who now fund the house where Octavian is held. These businessmen own slaves, and it is strongly implied that Sharpe is attempting to bias the experiment with Octavian in order to prove that Africans are inferior. He does this by stopping most of Octavian's education and making him work in the house.
When the political unrest that would later spur the American Revolution begins to seep into the Gitney household, Gitney decides to move into the countryside outside of Boston, and then hold a Pox Party. Each attendee is infected with the pox, with the hope that under this controlled circumstance they will have only benign cases. Gitney also wants to both weaken and quarantine his slaves when he begins to hear talk of a slave revolt. Cassiopeia, however, is killed by the pox, and after her death is dissected by the scientists in the house. Octavian discovers what the scientists are doing and in his anger flees the house, and ends up in the Colonial Army.
Octavian's military adventures are narrated mostly in epistolary form by Private Evidence Goring in letters to his sister Fruition. Octavian is eventually recaptured, and back at the Gitney house he is kept chained and completely alone. When Sharpe and Gitney, as well as his former classics teacher Dr. Trefusis, eventually decide to speak with him, Octavian is furious to discover that, with many of their funds coming from plantation owners in Virginia, they are counting on Octavian to fail, and to prove the "inferiority" of the African race.
I apologize for basically spoiling the book, but I thought it was cool and I didn't know how else to put it. :/ I thought it was really interesting. Overall, I enjoyed it!

Then there is Clockwork Princess. The third--and I believe final--book in the Infernal Devices series by Cassie Clare. I am only 4 chapters in and a lot has happened.

But I swear, if my favorite character dies...I will NEVER read books again.

That reminds me of a conversation I had with my Mom...earlier this month...

Me: [Sitting on the couch, just finished Entwined by Heather Dixon] [I toss the finished book aside.] The book is over, my *life* is over. I am never reading again.

Mom: [Who was walking through the living room, looked at me.] No.

She was right. I have read maybe two books since then...I don't know.

But that is completely irrelevant. Entwined was an AMAZING book, BTW. There is a character called The Keeper...He started out amazing...and then...got...creepy. He was still cool, even as he was going down hill. That's totally a book I would recommend.

This here is a book I bought at the book sale they were holding at the Library the day I went. I love book sales--mostly because I am trying to up my book collection so I can have an amazing book shelf. It was interesting because a few weeks ago, I wrote the name "Dorian Gray" on my whiteboard. It was a reminder to find the book at the library and put it on hold. Well, I didn't get it on hold, but I got it nevertheless...I am a happy girl indeed. I have wanted to read this book for a few weeks now.

That, and my goal this summer is to read A LOT. I know...that's all I did last summer. But all I read last summer were Historical Fictions, Inspirational Fictions and the like. This year, I am going to go more for classic stuff. Stuff like Wilde, Dickens, Poe, Voltaire, Shakespeare...must I go on? Then I want to read EVERY single thing that Tolkien ever wrote. That is my biggest goal for this summer.

It's going to be fantastic.

And this well, I decided that I am going to randomly post the pictures of what ends up on the whiteboards...This was something my sister made. It's just...so...HAPPY.

FREE HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!!! YAY!!!!

And there's a Unicorn there, so, yeah. Believe it.

I have more picture to post.
Be right back.

Uh, it's 5:55 AM?!

Okay, so, I really don't understand why I am up this early. Like, it is unnatural....So I am spending my time listening to A Thousand Years  By  Christina Perri and looking up images of Tobi from Naruto Shippuden. It's not a horrible way to spend free time on the computer. ~Chuckles~ Tobi with a lightsaber...classic.

Howl's Moving Castle. My new Obsession ^^

I know, I know, I haven't been here in a while. And I have neglected this post since Wednesday. It was just late that night when I finished the movie, and Paranormal Witness was on. That's my honest excuse.

So, to get this started, here is my review for Howl's Moving Castle.

Okay, first things first. Howl's Moving Castle is a Studio Ghibli film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The release date for the USA was in June, 2005. I believe that Disney had Pete Doctor, from Pixar, in charge of dubbing it into English. It was based on a novel by, Diana Wynne Jones.

All I have to say about Doctor's work, is this.HE COULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER VOICE FOR HOWL IF HE TRIED. I am serious. That was the PERFECT voice for that character. And I am not just fangirl-ing out! It was that good! The voice of Howl is a man by the name of, Christian Bale.

Some Cast members include, (in English)
Jean Simmons -Grandma Sophie,
Christian Bale-Howl,
Lauren Bacall-Witch of the Waste,
Blythe Danner -Madame Suliman,
Emily Mortimer -Young Sophie,

and Billy Crystal, as Calcifer... That was basically epic. 'Cept now, whenever I hear Billy's voice, I only think Mike Wazowski. I don't know if that's a bad thing, or a good thing. Lol.

All in all, the story was good. I liked the smaller elements, *Spoiler Alert* like when Howl had his melt down, (which was kinda pathetic, but I liked it just the same. It was funny. ^^) And other things, like the funny things Calcifer said, and so on. I don't wanna spoil it, so I won't say anymore.

But the basic plot of the story was great. I read that it was a little different from the novel...So the original book will be on my list of books to read.

Now, don't get my started with the animation. Because I love 2-D animation. I love how the Ghibli films are just that. I grew up with the older anime and such. Little did I know at the time, that they were Anime. I was a child, so things like that were just, cool shows. ^^

Anyway, I kinda went off on some memory lane there...Back to my point. I liked it all. The character design, music, animation, colors, script, everything. I know it may sound like everything pleases me, but there are some movies where I will just sit there and complain. But this was awesome. The minute it started, I instantly liked it. So- I was glad that is was almost 2 hours long.

I know only a little bit of Ghibli's work, sadly. Ponyo, and Kiki's s Delivery Service, and this one, are honestly the only films I have seen. My anime/movie watching had a rough time actually happening, but now I plan to see every one of the movies.

That's it. If it makes any sense. Haha.

In the end,  it was awesome, and I totally recommend it if you haven't seen it.

I shall be back. My foot has fallen asleep and I must go walk it off. That and Surviorman is on...hehe.

 Later Days! ^^

Random knowledge, and other news.

So, randomly, I Googled, Eric Church. Turns out, his full name is Kenneth Eric Church. I just thought it was interesting. Now I know something that I didn't know 12 hours ago! Tim McGraw's full name is Samuel Timothy McGraw...Just thought that deserved a place here as well.

Today I saw the lyric video for Taylor Swift's new song, We will never ever get back together. From her new album, Red. The album is coming out October 22, 2012. I am really really excited. But I wonder if she is going more towards the pop route, and leaving Country...I don't know quite yet, but I think whichever path she does end up taking, the album will still be amazing. That's my opinion. I have heard every song from her 3 previous albums, and I believe that this one will be just as great, if not better. Does that make sense?

While I am talking about music, Rolling in the Deep, by Adele is really really good. I can't express how amazing I think she is.

Well, I am in the middle of a couple different things, so I will be back later. Maybe I will have something interesting to say.  :D

Thanks guys ♥ Banana Pudding Ice Cream is the bomb!

PS: I am closing the Gibbs poll. Three people voted, and it seems that mustache Gibbs is a no no. Lol. I agree. The mustache was a little much, and lets face it, not Gibbs. Alright now. ☺

What?

I am easily impressed...But I have the patience of a dead snail. Which isn't much... I guess my "Fail Wail" was so loud that a guy on a bike outside turned to um...wonder what it was... Ehe...I am sorry guy-on-the bike...I have been trying to find a video of Hatake Kakashi's English dubbed voice. I heard him say three things in the one video I did find. It was some clip and Guy all over reacted when Kakashi didn't hear what he said. I have read the 4 first Naruto Mangas and Kakashi is my favorite character by far. So I was trying to see if the voices in the anime work with his character. I couldn't really hear the Japanese voice since it goes so fast...I think what I did hear of the dubbed one worked for him. I absolutely adore his attitude. That's why he's my favorite.

Of course Sai is still basically my favorite from Shippuden. But now I have 2 favorite characters. I also now know why when you find a Chibi picture of Gaara, there is a heart on his head instead of his tattoo. The tattoo means 'love.' I love this manga/anime stuff. TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY.

I guess I am going to go see who wins the Next Food Network Star. I am pretty sure that is is the last one. Martita is gone so I really have no reason to watch it...But if I had to choose one to win, it would be Yvan. Ye...

My fate was changed because I was BRAVE.

Yesterday my Dad took some of the family to the theaters to see Disney/Pixar's Brave. That was my first time in a movie theater, so it was very exciting. It was a lot bigger and quieter than I thought it would be. We had to walk through a few halls that were completely covered with carpeting. It was dark except for some lights here and there. I felt like I was in NCIS, on my way to go get questioned for something I didn't do. ;)

As for BRAVE...It was AMAZING! The animation was awesome. The music was awesome. Merida's HAIR was AWESOME! The wet hair and wet fabric was awesome. The story was good. The fighting sequences were a lot more intense then what I am used to seeing from Pixar. But it was enjoyable and I have to admit that I did jump a couple times during the bears' kerfuffle. Everything was very enjoyable. There where only like 2 parts that were kinda awkward for reasons I would rather not um...I had heard that the humor was much like Dreamworks. And it was...Pixar OUTDID itself on Brave. The scenery, animation, characters, everything. Loved it and I would TOTALLY recommend it. Good family movie. I think that I will end up getting the DVD and memorizing every line WITH the accents. ♥

We tried to come up with a moral to the story. Came up with, "Don't trust a witch," and, "Don't turn you mum into a bear."

Afterwards we went and had Linner, or Lupper, or Dunch or Dupper, or whatever you call Lunch/Dinner, at Pizza Hut. That was--as far as I can remember--my first time there as well! The pizza was really good. And the setting was all brick and black and white checkered table clothes. Very classy.

All in all, it was a very good day. Near the end of it I got gut-rot on Whoppers. Those things are like seriously addicting. The malted stuff inside makes them very filling.

Well, there are CHRISTMAS movies on the Hallmark channel which is awesome...and I need to do research on the history of Idaho...That should be fun. Heh.

 Have a good, muggy, weekend.

Is it only Wednesday?

My week has been totally weird. I mean, yesterday felt like a Saturday. But it wasn't so we have to continue on with the week.

Yesterday I went to the library and got three more books by Karen Witemeyer. I am reading now, To Win her Heart. It's really good so far. I am still trying to get used to the characters after being comfortable with Meredith, and the Archer clan.

Speaking of clan- Fading Echoes, from the Warriors series, by ERIN HUNTER- was very good. I hate to hear though when something happens to my favorite cats. Mainly Firestar...

Anyway, the reason I wanted to be here was to post 'Even if it breaks your Heart.' By The Eli Young Band. It has become a habit that every morning I end up turning Froggy on. The first song I heard was this song. And when I learn how to play my guitar* I am going to attempt to master it. :D

Have a good day ^_^

There are never enough exclamation points!!

I woke up and got out of bed this morning and the first thing I said was, "Brave opens today!! I was either talking to the fish, the dog, or my sleeping roomie--I don't know... :) But that's what happened.

Time for "all of Spell to break loose." As the promo had said I believe. SO extremely EXCITED!! I can't wait to get a look at it for myself! If any of ya'll have seen it, what do you think?? Any good? Did Pixar deliver something SPECTACULAR?! Sorry, that was geeky...PROUD OF IT! ♥

Anyway, I continued the day with my usual and then a trip to one of the 'public places.' Mainly being Walmart and a Family Dollar. I got a funny shirt and some really pretty light-pink nail polish. I really girl-ed it up today with the polish, but I needed a color that wasn't black or a BRIGHT green.

My coolio shirt. It's actually a blue color. I don't know why it's gray in this...Silly phone...

I know it's a cruddy pic, but nonetheless.
MY WHALES OF THE WORLD POSTER!!!!

Anyway, I am going to go eat my fish and watch the Waltons. Yeah. Cuz I'm cool like that. Oh, and very Humble. Just kidding. HEH :)

Enjoy your Friday, your weekend, and the ONE HOUR EPISODE SEASON FINALE-- :( -- OF THE LEGEND OF KORRA!!!!!!

Angry Birds and This. ♥

After a long 10 hour reading session, (not going to say it was JUST reading. I mean, there was food to eat during time periods and the other stuff...Like, I HAVE to get water inside of me every 11 hours or so...)

I finished Short-Straw Bride yesterday. And today I started and FINISHED Stolen.

The reviews for both, I'll make 'em short and sweet. Kinda like the caramel corn my sister made... *shutters* That was some EPIC sweet crud right there...

ANYWAY! (Wait, let me get through this level of Angry Birds and I will be back...And I will be cake...WHATEVER THAT MEANS! Okay so I did originally type cake instead of back. It's not that hard to understand though. Back kinda sounds like bake and bake RHYMES with cake...So yeah. There ya are..) (Gotta have some Rhyme in your life :O) )

Short-Straw Bride was beautifully written. The story was beautiful. The characters were beautiful. And Karen wrote it in a way that made you feel like you were actually there. Knowing what was going on. What they were feeling...(That was the best part.) The whole thing was really really sweet. I REALLY REALLY loved this book. That's my opinion. I love the Historical Romances. ♥♥♥

Stolen, on the other hand, wasn't what I expected. I really did like the story. There were certain things that I really didn't like. I could have done with out the cussing. But the story was nice. The camel was really neat though...

That's my opinion.

Well, the book for tomorrow is 'Avalon High' by Meg Cabbot. I am pretty sure that is how you spell her name. It looks promising. Can't wait ;)

The night is some-what young, but I am going to bed...

Night ya'll.

Oh, one more thing.

This is the Limerick I wrote. Like two seconds it took me to write it...Heh. I love limericks.

"There was an old lady of Wombat,
She was never good at combat,
One day she fell on her head,
                       Now the floorboards are dead,
And now there's no lady of Wombat"

Wombat was the first word that came into my mind. Geekery. Yeah. That's good... :)
